AFOP Announces the Release of Slimpack™ Reconfigurable LC Connector
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - April 21, 2009. - Alliance Fiber Optic Products, Inc. (NASDAQ Small Cap: AFOP) is an innovative supplier of fiber optic components, subsystems, and integrated modules for the optical network equipment market. AFOP announces the release of the new Slimpack™ Reconfigurable LC Connectors (RLC) for SFF applications. Based on the proven LC Slimpack, the Slimpack RLC Connector now offers users the capability to reconfigure the channels in the field by simply releasing the rear cover and switching the ferrules. It is a fast and easy way to change polarity without having to re-terminate. Slimpack RLC Connectors are available in both multimode and single mode versions with rear bodies and boots for 2mm, 2.4mm, or 3mm cable jackets.
AFOP also offers a complete line of adapters to support either the LC Slimpack or standard LC connectors. These adapters are designed to fit in the SC Adapter footprints which significantly eases the transition from the SC to the LC system. Adapters are available in duplex or quad designs, with or without EMI protection.
